Thanksgiving is a long held American tradition. Declared a national celebration by Abraham Lincoln in 1863 Thanksgiving has been a National Holiday since. Colorado didn’t become a state until August 1st 1876. Americans had reached the south east portion of Colorado by the early 1800s. It is likely that from that point Coloradans had something akin to a thanksgiving meal, though the menu might have been different. Prior to Abraham Lincoln’s decree many states and people had a celebration honoring the original thanksgiving at Plymouth rock. In a spirit of thankfulness here at CCM want to recognize the top 5 things we are thankful for this year.
1 Family and Friends
2 God’s leadership to not receive the vaccine
3 Our God given rights
4 Colorado’s beautiful land
5 Kanye
Give thanks, its the least you can do.
