Broomfield city council is holding a study session tonight to review the implementation of new ordinances restricting gun rights. Colorado is already a restricted state when it comes to firearms. Further infringement on the rights of Colorado citizens shouldn’t be allowed.

below in italics is the letter I sent to the city council:
“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
Ordinance A isn’t supported by any atf decision and is purely an authoritarian measure.
Ordinance A.5 is more strict than federal law and there is no evidence this would have any positive impact, also 18 year Olds get consistently blown up and shot for their freedoms.
Ordinance B regardless of grandfathering old guns is extremely unconstitutional. From the founding of this nation any free countryman has been allowed to build and maintain his own armaments. To come after this very fundamental right is not only disgusting but it is completely unenforceable.
Ordinance c is an unnecessary and overreaching tax on gun dealers.
Ordinance D is absolutely appalling, a 10 day waiting period for a firearm could mean life or death. Think of a victim of domestic abuse who leaves, to make there be a 10 day wait for that lady to protect herself against a violent criminal is egregious.
Ordinance E and F seem very shortsighted in a state with rising violent crime. An armed society is a polite society. Banning firearms from public areas is not only completely unenforceable but also unfortunate to those who could be protected by a good Samaritan.
To the city council of Broomfield I urge you to uphold your duty to the constitution, your actions are in front of the eyes of the Lord and he has already given these rights to us.
I could have been more thorough but I got it in before they met, That is what matters. We will update on what comes from the city meeting.
